What Is a Day Master in BaZi?
The Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of your Day Pillar. It is the reference point of the whole chart — the “you” against which every other stem is compared.

One stem, in the Day Pillar
Your chart has four pillars, and the Day Pillar sits in the third position. The Day Master is that pillar's Heavenly Stem. Because every relationship in the chart is described relative to it, traditional reading starts there.
Why it matters
The reference point for everything else
The Year, Month and Hour stems are compared with the Day Master to form the Ten Gods — symbolic relationship labels such as resource, wealth, officer, friend or output. Without a clear reference point, those labels would have no meaning.
The Day Master's element and polarity are also a first piece of vocabulary: Yang Wood, Yin Fire, and so on. It describes a quality to explore, not a complete personality label.

Ten Day Masters in Yin and Yang
There are ten possible Day Masters, formed by pairing the Five Elements with Yin and Yang polarity: Yang Wood (甲), Yin Wood (乙), Yang Fire (丙), Yin Fire (丁), Yang Earth (戊), Yin Earth (己), Yang Metal (庚), Yin Metal (辛), Yang Water (壬) and Yin Water (癸).
An honest boundary
Strength is context, not a verdict
In traditional reading the Day Master can feel supported or pressured depending on season and surrounding elements. A simple chart should not pretend to deliver a complete strength or favorable-element verdict. That deeper assessment depends on rules that differ between schools.
